How is BMI calculated?
By dividing weight (kg) by height squared (m²). For example: 70 kg at 1.70 m → 70 / (1.70 × 1.70) = 24.2.
What are the WHO categories?
Underweight: less than 18.5 · Normal weight: 18.5 to 24.9 · Overweight: 25 to 29.9 · Obesity class I: 30 to 34.9 · Class II: 35 to 39.9 · Class III: 40 or more.
Is BMI valid for everyone?
No. It is a reference for adults; it does not apply well to minors, pregnant women, older people or athletes with a lot of muscle mass. For a real assessment, consult a health professional.
