Delta: Where does a year of your revenue go?

The signature

The River

A live Sankey diagram with four business presets and three sliders, where every band is proportional to money and all the maths sits in one function.

The idea

An accounting firm's site built around the question every owner asks. The River is a Sankey diagram the visitor shapes: revenue splits into cost of sales, people, premises, everything else, tax and what is yours, each band exactly as wide as the money.

Signature moments

  1. 01

Pick a business type (studio, café, shop or workshop) and move revenue, cost of sales and running costs; the river redraws with dots flowing along it.

  2. 02

A sentence spells out how much of every €100 goes to work, running costs, tax and you, and how much to set aside each month for tax.

  3. 03

When costs exceed revenue, a hatched shortfall band appears and says how much a month has to come from savings or credit.
