The signature
SunStudy
A model of a house, in metres, lit by the real sun of any latitude, longitude and time zone, with a static drawing as fallback.
The idea
Architects design with light. SunStudy computes the sun's position in the browser with NOAA's solar equations and lights a model of a courtyard house in Córdoba with it, so the shadows on the page are the ones outside at that minute.
Signature moments
- 01
On the home page the house casts today's real shadows, and scrolling runs through the rest of the day until after sunset.
- 02
On the services page you pick any day and hour and get the plan with its shadows, the sun path, sunrise, sunset and hours of sun.
- 03
On a project page one drawing zooms from the block at 1:500 to a window detail at 1:5, with the scale bar recalculated live.
