Almost 1 in 4 outpatient appointments is a no-show (a review of 105 studies: Dantas et al., Health Policy, 2018). The main causes are a long wait between booking and visit, and having missed before. Many small clinics still run their schedule on paper or spreadsheets, and that slot is simply lost: nobody calls the person who was waiting for one.

A daily schedule where every appointment shows its status, and a system that wins back open slots by offering them to the waitlist. The visit ends in "Finish and charge", with QR payment and invoice, in one system. We also designed the dashboard, the hard states and dark mode.

The whole case follows a single day: a Tuesday for a pediatrician at a clinic in La Paz, with 18 appointments. Why is the open slot striped and in another color? Because the front desk has to spot it at a glance among 18 appointments, and see how many people are waiting for it. One visual detail turns a cancellation into a recovered appointment.
